My story

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist with nearly two decades of experience supporting individuals through eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, and major life transitions. My work blends evidence-based psychotherapy with somatic, integrative, and recovery-informed approaches that address both the mind and the body.

Meet Dr. Pam Singer

For much of my early life, I tried to think my way into feeling whole. I worked hard, pushed for achievement, and shaped myself into what I believed would finally feel like “enough.” From the outside, it looked like I had built a successful life. But in doing so, I disconnected from the very part of me that could guide me toward true healing: my body’s wisdom. My efforts to avoid pain, control emotions, and meet impossible standards left me feeling further from myself than ever.

Over time, life brought challenges that no amount of striving or intellectual understanding could resolve. The kinds of experiences that gently, and sometimes forcefully, reveal the limits of control: interrupted plans, losses, grief, and physical struggles that invited me to see things differently. I began to understand that healing wasn’t something to achieve. It was something to return to — a remembering of what had always been there beneath the layers of striving and protection.
Real change began when I stopped trying to fix myself and started listening. When I welcomed in the parts of me I’d pushed aside, and when I let my mind, body, and spirit work together rather than in isolation. In those moments, I learned that feeling broken is sometimes the beginning of becoming whole.

This understanding reshaped my life and my work. I sought out practices that could hold this deeper kind of healing — somatic therapies, Internal Family Systems (IFS), yoga, psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, trauma releasing practices, and wove them into an integrative approach that honors the complexity of what it means to heal.

Today, I work with people who sense there’s more waiting for them beneath the surface. People who may have tried other paths but are ready now to come home to themselves — fully, courageously, and with compassion. My mission is to walk with you on that return.

from striving to wholeness

Clinical Experience & Leadership

Clinical depth. Human-first care. Always.

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist with nearly two decades of experience supporting individuals through eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, and major life transitions. My work blends evidence-based psychotherapy with somatic, integrative, and recovery-informed approaches that address both the mind and the body.

I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the PAU Stanford University PsyD Consortium, where my research focused on the intersection of dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and binge eating. I led DBT groups at Stanford throughout the entirety of my graduate training and and have worked in a variety of settings, including university counseling centers, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs

I developed and directed trauma recovery and eating disorder recovery programs at Kaiser Permanente in Northern California. I later served as Clinical Director at The Lotus Collaborative, a treatment center focused on eating disorders and trauma, where I supervised clinicians, advocated for client care, and led group therapy programs.

You’ll be guided by someone with deep clinical training—who also knows what it’s like to feel disconnected from your own body or self. This work honors both your intellect and your intuition. It’s a place where your healing is personalized, embodied, and truly respected.

Frequently asked questions

I don’t just follow a protocol—I create therapy experiences that meet you where you are. That includes everything from somatic tools to psychedelic integration to how we shape our time together.

Here are some of the most common questions I get about how this work unfolds. And if yours isn’t listed? I’d love to answer it directly on a discovery call.

You Have Questions. I'm Happy to Answer

I offer an integrative, trauma-informed approach that blends evidence-based techniques with mind-body-spirit healing. My foundation is in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), but I also draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic practices, yoga therapy, polyvagal theory, and more. Each session is tailored—some days we focus on nervous system regulation, others on belief shifts, processing, or integration work. My goal is to meet you exactly where you are.

I am licensed in California to provide therapy throughout the state, both in-person (I am based in Sherman Oaks) and virtually. I am also approved by the Arizona Board of Psychology to offer telehealth therapy in Arizona.

I’m a private pay provider and not in-network with any insurance plans. However, many clients are reimbursed for sessions using their out-of-network benefits. I provide monthly superbills you can submit to your insurer. I am happy to discuss with you questions that you can ask your insurance provider to learn more about how your plan reimburses for out-of-network therapy.

KAP is a modality that combines low-dose, legally prescribed ketamine with therapeutic support to facilitate deeper healing. Sessions include intention setting, somatic preparation, a guided journey, and integration afterward. KAP may be a good fit if you’ve felt stuck in traditional therapy or are dealing with persistent trauma, depression, or disconnection. I’m happy to explore this option with you in a consultation.

I specialize in working with adults navigating:

  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Eating disorders and body image struggles
  • Attachment wounds and relational patterns
  • Reproductive mental health (fertility, miscarriage, postpartum transitions)

Many of my clients are high-achieving women who’ve spent their lives showing up for others and now want to reconnect with themselves. I also work with people with a number of other challenges, from self-esteem to identity to work stress to mood and anxiety disorders. If you don’t see what you’re looking for help with listed here but you still have a feeling my approach may be helpful to you, reach out and we can discuss together whether I am a good fit.
